- A Commitment To Quincy Through Soccer
“Quincy is in my blood.” Andrew Rudd shows his commitment to Quincy Illinois through John Wood Community College’s Soccer program. Follow the journey of Andrew Rudd, a talented soccer player from John Wood who didn’t initially plan on attending a junior college.
It all started with a golf tournament in Quincy during his junior year. His grandparents suggested touring John Wood, but Andrew was hesitant about attending a junior college. That all changed when he met soccer coach Bob Cowman, who expressed a genuine interest in him. Andrew was impressed by the kindness of the team and decided to give John Wood a chance. Despite not knowing anyone in Quincy, Andrew made friends quickly and was grateful for the help of his counselor, also named Andrew. He soon became an integral part of the soccer team, working hard to earn his spot and helping to bring the program to its most successful season yet. Andrew shares how respect, responsibility, and determination are essential to the program’s success.
