Christy and Seren Davenport Pursue Nursing Together

In a unique and inspiring journey, Christy, the Social Service Director at Liberty Village in Pittsfield, and her daughter Seren, a senior at Pittsfield High School, are taking Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes together at John Wood Community College’s Southeast Education Center (SEC) in Pittsfield.

Christy, already deeply rooted in the healthcare community through her role, decided to enhance her skills by enrolling in the CNA program. What makes her journey even more special is that she’s doing it alongside her daughter Seren, who is eager to start her own career in healthcare. The duo’s shared experience at JWCC has not only strengthened their bond but also highlighted the College’s role in providing educational opportunities close to home.

For Christy and Seren, the convenience of accessing healthcare education at JWCC’s Southeast Education Center in Pittsfield has been a game-changer. Being able to pursue their goals without having to travel far has made their educational journey more manageable and impactful. It underscores JWCC’s commitment to making quality education accessible to the community it serves, offering programs that cater to students at different stages of life and career paths.

As they progress through the program, Christy and Seren are gaining the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the healthcare field.
