- Nevin McNally – Art is A Different World
Nevin McNally, is a Quincy native who has been an artist his entire life. He is currently trying to balance two aspects of his life: his life at Knapheide and his life in the art world. He first discovered his love for art when he drew a T-Rex wearing blue jean overalls in kindergarten and his classmates loved it. This sense of validation encouraged him to continue pursuing art. After high school, Nevin went to John Wood community college then later went to Culver-Stockton and made more connections in the art community. The biggest impact on his life was the Quincy Art Center where he won first place in a competition and was given a week-long intensive study at the University of Illinois. He hopes to continue to participate in art shows and eventually have his own gallery in Culver-Stockton and participate in St Louis exhibits. He dreams of teaching at a college and even exhibiting his art in Europe one day.
