An internship is an ideal opportunity for a JWCC student to experience a prospective career path and earn college credit. Internships provide the best setting to develop and refine industry specific-skills and can be an important part of the academic process. Students gain practical experience by applying methods and theories learned in the classroom.
Internships can be paid or unpaid and range from 80 – 320 hours on the job. Internships vary from 1-4 credit hours and students earn one credit hour for every 80 hours on the job. It is important to note that students will be charged for their internship based on the number of credit hours, just as any other credit class.
