April 11 @ 3:15 pm - 5:00 pm
John Wood Community College’s Fine Arts Department will offer full or half tuition scholarships for the 2024-25 academic year for students who demonstrate excellence in vocal and/or instrumental music and plan to participate in a JWCC performing ensemble. Auditions are set for Friday, March 22 from 9 to 11 a.m. and Thursday, April 11, from 3:15 to 5 p.m.
JWCC offers an Associate in Fine Arts for students pursuing a degree in the field. However, students are not required to be a music major to receive scholarship support.
Student awards are based on an audition with the music faculty. Interested students may apply for a time for an audition request on the dates noted above by completing the form at www.jwcc.edu/programs/fine-arts/scholarships or emailing Dr. Steven Soebbing at ssoebbing@jwcc.edu.
Additional funding for qualified students may be applied for through the JWCC Foundation through the Raymond DeClue Scholarship, Pauline Gallant Drumming Scholarship and the Foundation Fine Arts (Music) Scholarship. Awards are for students who participate in a JWCC performing ensemble, vary in amount and are based on a talent audition before JWCC faculty. Foundation specific applications may be completed at www.jwccfoundation/org/jwcc-scholarships.
JWCC performing ensembles are directed by Quincy natives Dr. Steven Soebbing and Jessica Snider.
