Hourly pay range for the Mechanic is $16.00 to $22.00. Rate of pay will be based on background and qualifications. A night shift differential of $1.50 per hour is offered in addition to the hourly rate of pay
Full-time Hours Available on all shifts for the Mechanic. OVERTIME AVAILABLE!
Essential Functions for the Mechanic Include:
*Diagnose the malfunction(s), determine the extent of damage and repair according to procedures and guidelines set by the company and DOT.
*Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
*Use hand tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, or precision instruments, as well as power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, or jacks and hoists.
*Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment.
*Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices.
*Identify and repair engine malfunctions.
*Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
Minimum Required Education and Experience for the Mechanic Include:
*High School Diploma or Equivalent with automotive coursework completed is preferred, but not required.
*Certification from a technical school and/or other continuing education is helpful.
*Prior experience performing similar functions is required.
*Ability to lift 50 pounds, push/pull 125 pounds or carry up to 50 pound objects.
*Solid work history is required to be considered.
