Job Description

Position: Part-Time Middle School Teacher

St. James Lutheran School in Quincy, Illinois is seeking a talented educator to teach Middle School classes to students in 5th-8th grades. Specifically, we are looking for an individual that is comfortable with teaching multiple subjects. This is a part time position which involves teaching four classes. The schedule will be a morning schedule (8:45 AM to 12:30 PM). 

St. James is a pre-K-8th grade Lutheran school that has been serving the Quincy community since 1851. We are especially seeking educators with a strong passion for teaching students, a love for Jesus, and a creative/innovative approach to transferring knowledge to the next generation. We foster an environment of teamwork, encouragement, and growth as teachers are provided with assistance and support throughout the year. We have a friendly and collaborative environment at St. James in which our teachers benefit from mentorship and guidance from other teachers as well as the administration.

Applicants are required to have strong oral and written communication skills and have either previous experience as a middle school teacher or have earned their Illinois Teaching Certificate . Resources and support will be provided throughout the year. 

Job Type: Part Time

Pay: Hourly- based on education and experience.
