Job Description

This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure track, bargaining unit position reporting to the Director of Allied Health and Emergency Services at JWCC’s Quincy, IL campus and other locations across the JWCC district. The position begins Fall semester 2024.

The Instructor for Nursing will primarily teach in the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program, which prepares students to become professional, caring, and competent nurses. The curriculum is career-oriented and approved by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Teaching responsibilities encompass classroom, skills lab, and clinical settings, including evaluating student progress towards meeting learning outcomes. The role also involves engagement in activities, such as committee membership, curriculum review, assessment, accreditation, and participation in systematic program evaluation and planning.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

The position may require additional duties outside normal work hours and contracted workdays including travel to and from educational and healthcare facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree required.
  • Registered Professional Nurse license in Illinois or eligibility to obtain prior to the start of the semester.
  • Three years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Excellent leadership, time management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.
