Job Title: Therapist/Counselor- Criminal Justice Focus
Location: Quincy, IL

Department: Clarity Healthcare

Employment Type: Full Time

Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. or Monday-Friday four 10-hour days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counseling Services: Provide individual, group, family, and/or other practical counseling to meet client/patient needs and treatment goals.
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Complete intake/screening and comprehensive assessment processes within designated time frames as per state regulatory, accreditation, and agency standards. Determine and document diagnoses based on comprehensive assessments.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans for clients/patients in accordance with state regulatory, accreditation, and agency standards.
  • Clinical Meetings and Feedback: Participate in clinical staffing/treatment meetings and provide feedback on pertinent cases.
  • Service Goals and Collaboration: Meet department-specific Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) requirements. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure authorized services are approved and information is provided timely.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Document all services provided in accordance with state regulatory, accreditation, and agency standards. Ensure timely and appropriate service entry, format compliance, and alignment with treatment plans. Correct any file/charting deficiencies within the appropriate time frame.
  • Client Transition: Assist clients/patients through the transition process and complete final correspondence such as transition summaries and plans.
  • Training and Development: Complete all mandatory training, adhering to state regulatory, accreditation, and agency standards.
  • Professional Representation: Represent the agency professionally within the community. Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients/patients, and coworkers, adhering to the Code of Ethics and agency policies/procedures.
  • Crisis Management: Handle crisis situations and coordinate emergency services as needed.
  • Supervision and Facilitation: Provide professional/clinical supervision to trainees once professional requirements are met. Facilitate group counseling, group education, family therapy, and individual sessions, including specialty services like trauma and co-occurring therapy.
  • Training and Consultation: Provide training and guidance on clinical issues and evidence-based practices. Offer clinical consultation to treatment team members when necessary.
  • Goal Alignment: Demonstrate interest in the company’s long-term and short-term goals and objectives. Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

 

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Must possess at least a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Holds licensure with the applicable board of professional registration for the state of practice as a professional counselor or social worker.
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Willingness to become licensed in additional states beyond the current state of licensure.

Required License/Certification:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Training and expertise in diagnostic criteria for substance use disorders and/or mental health issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of caseload management and rehabilitation methods related to mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment services.
  • Detailed knowledge of issues encountered by individuals with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Considerable knowledge of treatment methods, modalities, and legal requirements for mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of supervisory and training practices in a mental health and/or substance use disorder setting.
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned programs.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Capable of establishing effective relationships via telephone, telehealth, and in-person contacts.
  • Ability to follow directions and accept supervision.
