Part-Time Student Support Services Program Assistant

Job Description

This is a part-time, 12 month, non-exempt, grant-funded position that reports to the Manager of TRIO Student Support Services and is located on the JWCC Campus in Quincy, Illinois. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for providing support to the TRIO-Student Support Services program. Responsibilities include generating and maintaining physical files for the program, creating correspondence, recording meetings, aiding in coordinating activities and events, may chaperon events and trips with other staff, providing participant support during weekend and summer events, creating, and distributing information to participants and organizations regarding the SSS program, and providing office support for the day-to-day functions of the SSS program and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

An associate degree and one year of office experience is required.  Previous experience with TRIO programs preferred.  Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, be able to relate well to a diverse student population and handle confidential matters with discretion. This position requires strong computer skills. Preference will be given to applicants who are examples of the targeted population.
