Illinois College (IC) is thrilled to expand its ongoing partnership with John Wood Community College (JWCC), offering new 2+2 agreements for students in accounting, management, and sports management. IC and JWCC signed the expanded articulation agreement on October 28. JWCC President Dr. Bryan Renfro, IC President Dr. Barbara Farley, JWCC staff, and IC faculty and staff were present for the signing. This agreement expands on the articulation agreement signed last year between IC and JWCC allowing agriculture and agricultural science students to complete their bachelor’s degree in agribusiness management at IC.  Now, accounting, management, and sports management students have the same opportunity.

This expansion provides an exciting opportunity for students to seamlessly transition into completing their bachelor’s degree, building on an already successful articulation agreement for agribusiness management. Now, more students can benefit from a flexible and efficient pathway toward their academic and career goals.

These agreements are what are known as 2+2 agreements, meaning courses taken at a two-year community college will directly transfer into a specific four-year academic degree program at a college or university.

JWCC President Bryan Renfro shared, “Any time we can expand agreements in multiple majors with four year partners increases access and opportunities for our students. We are proud to sign this agreement with Illinois College for our business students.”

IC President Barbara Farley stated, “Illinois College is thrilled to celebrate the expansion of our existing partnership with John Wood Community College, now enabling students to seamlessly transition into our accounting, management, and sports management programs. We look forward to building on the success of our agribusiness management agreement, as we welcome students who set their foundation at John Wood Community College.”

Prospective students can learn more about sports management by visiting Illinois College’s website. Students obtaining a degree in accounting and management are also given the flexibility of studying on IC’s campus or through an asynchronous online program.
