John Wood Community College Announces Summer Mini-Session for Students with Intellectual Disabilities

John Wood Community College’s College for Life program will offer a summer mini-session July 22 through the 25 from 9 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. at JWCC’s Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison. CFL programs are specifically designed for high school and college-aged students with intellectual or developmental disabilities.  Cost for each class is $50.

Class Schedule:

9:00 AM – 10:20 AM:

  • Food Science: Students will explore cooking through experiments and projects.
  • Identity Quest: Participants will discover their alter ego and superpower through mask-making.

10:30 AM – 11:50 AM:

  • Say It BIG!: Students will design and create a mural that shares their message in a big way.
  • Performing Arts: This class will focus on elements of performing through group activities involving movement, music, and role-play.

This program provides a perfect opportunity for students to engage in fun, educational activities tailored to their needs. It aims to foster creativity, self-expression, and social skills in a supportive environment.
