JWCC Athletic Director Brad Hoyt selected NJCAA Region Ambassador for Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Council

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Council announced that Brad Hoyt, JWCC athletic director has been selected for the position of EDI Region Ambassador.

Ambassadors develop a working framework to form EDI Region Committees to lead their respective regions in EDI initiatives.  Region Ambassadors fill an especially important role on a regional and national level.  The focus is to educate, empower and engage student-athletes, coaches, and athletic directors.

“It is an honor to be selected as an Ambassador to this important council for the NJCAA,” said Hoyt.  “Serving reflects the commitment of JWCC and specifically John Wood athletics in the area of equity, diversity, and inclusion.”

Hoyt was a member of the most recent cohort graduating from the Quincy Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity and Inclusion Academy, an eight-week academy focused on awareness within our community as it relates to being diverse and inclusive. He also serves as a member of the John Wood D & I Committee, providing support to diversity and inclusion initiatives on the John Wood campus.

JWCC is home to eight intercollegiate athletic programs, three men’s and four women’s teams that compete in Region 24 of NJCAA and the Mid-Athletic Conference.  In 2020, JWCC added a coed Esports league to the athletic program.

Hoyt has been JWCC’s athletic director since August of 2012.
