JWCC Business and Industry Training Offering Spring Classes for Social Media and Excel
John Wood Community College Business and Industry Training is offering social media and Excel classes this spring. Classes are open to the public and no application is necessary. Reservations are required. The classes will take place at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center, 2710 North 42nd Street, Quincy.
Many small businesses need help to stay in front of potential customers and rise above the noise of competing products and services. The Digital Marketing for Local Business workshop will show participants how to get Google to showcase their local business, send customers ready to buy, and improve referrals. Digital Marketing for Local Business will be held Tuesday, March 7, from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $65 per person. Andrew Skattebo with BrickStreet Digital will present the class.
Video Basics for Business is designed to be a quick, basic intro to creating video for social media or a website. This workshop is for individuals who would like to use more video on their website or social media but are not sure where to start. Video Basics for Business will be held Tuesday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $75 per person. Andrew Skattebo with BrickStreet Digital will present the class.
The eight-hour Excel Level I course will meet on March 21 and 23 from1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and March 28 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This course covers general spreadsheet uses by offering examples of entering and editing several types of data. Topics covered include entering, editing, and deleting data; adjusting column width and row height; entering a formula; working with function arguments; and much more. The cost of the class is $95. Michael Wells will instruct the course.
The six-hour Excel Level II class meets on April 11, 13, and 18 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. This course is an extension of the Excel Level I class and will cover such topics as finding and replacing data; importing/exporting; using block names; advanced functions; creating a database; PivotTables and PivotCharts; sharing workbooks; and more. The cost of the class is $95. Michael Wells will instruct the course.
