JWCC Heath Center Art Gallery Hosts Art Show by Nevin McNally
The John Wood Community College Heath Center Art Gallery is hosting oil painter Nevin McNally in a solo exhibition titled “Mostly Faces”. The art show is free and open to the public now through Friday, February 24. A reception will be held Wednesday, January 25 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the gallery.
McNally is a Quincy native, a 2018 JWCC graduate and a 2020 Culver-Stockton college alum.
“Salvador Dali and Caravaggio heavily influence the exhibit,” says McNally. “My paintings tend to split into works of surrealism, portraiture and abstract works of art. Among these varieties, I am constantly drawn to the connection we humans feel of someone or something within a painting looking back at us, and the illusion of this very act. I enjoy not just the challenge of this illusion, but the final result of creating something truly original.”
McNally recalls his artistic career taking off at JWCC and finds it appropriate to host his first solo exhibition in the beautiful Heath Center Art Gallery.
McNally works as a subcontract buyer at Knapheide Manufacturing and resides in Quincy. Follow him on Facebook and Instagram. Some pieces are for sale. Commissions are available. Email nevinmacart@gmail.com for information.
Some artwork is for sale. A portion of each sale is retained by the college to support the gallery.
