JWCC Offers Free FAFSA Filing Services to All College Students

Free FAFSA filing help
July 31, 2024

John Wood Community College (JWCC) is stepping up to support students amidst national issues with FAFSA filing by offering free FAFSA filing services to JWCC students and all college students. Two events have been scheduled to assist students in navigating the financial aid process.

The first event will take place at the JWCC Southeast Education Center in Pittsfield on Monday, August 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. as part of new student orientation at the facility. The second event is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6 at Bella Ease at 707 Broadway in Quincy from 11:00 AM to 1:00 p.m. Participants at both events will enjoy free food, t-shirts, and prizes as they work on their FAFSA filings.

Students can access the College’s financial aid personnel at any time, but this district-wide effort aims to support students who have not yet filed or are still experiencing issues with FAFSA filing. JWCC financial aid staff will be on hand to assist students, parents, and guardians with the FAFSA process. Any student, regardless of their chosen college, is welcome to attend. No reservations are required. Attendees are encouraged to bring their FSA ID and 2022 tax documents if possible.

Chris Genenbacher, JWCC Director of Financial Aid, emphasized the importance of these events: “We understand the challenges students and families are facing with FAFSA filing this year. Our goal is to provide the necessary support and resources to ensure every student has access to the financial aid they need.”
