Drive to Benefit Sleep in Heavenly Peace Non-Profit Based in Liberty
The John Wood Community College Southeast Education Center ‘s Rotaract Club that serves Pike County is sponsoring a bedding drive to help children in need.
The bedding drive is in collaboration with the non-profit organization, Sleep in Heavenly Peace, based in Liberty. Sleep in Heavenly Peace constructs bunk beds for children who do not have their own bed to sleep in each night. The organization’s goal is to distribute 15,000 bunk beds.
JWCC’s Rotaract Club is collecting new twin size sheets, pillows, blankets, comforters and mattress covers to be delivered with the new beds built by Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Donations can be dropped off at the front desk at all JWCC centers: JWCC’s Quincy campus (1301 South 48thStreet); Southeast Education Center (39637 260thAvenue, Pittsfield); JWCC Agricultural Education Center (37803 Highway 104 in Baylis); Mt. Sterling Education Center (108 N. Capitol); Workforce Development Center (4220 Kochs Lane, Quincy).
Rotaract clubs bring together people ages 18-30 to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. In communities worldwide, Rotary and Rotaract members work side by side to serve their communities.
