JWCC to Host College Connections Event at Southeast Education Center in Pittsfield
John Wood Community College is hosting College Connections, an open house for anyone interested in programs at JWCC. Admissions, financial aid and academic advising services will all be available at the JWCC Southeast Education Center in Pittsfield. Prospective students, including adults, students and parents, are welcome on April 11, anytime from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at JWCC Southeast Education Center, 39637 260th Ave., Pittsfield.
Regardless of where an individual is in the college process, JWCC is here to help with this one-stop event. Attendees can visit with JWCC representatives to learn about academic programs, get help applying to college, financial aid and scholarships and career coaching. New students attending the event, will receive a $100 fall scholarship.
Current JWCC adult student Maranda Mize shared her journey. Mize is a Surg Tech student who started attending late in life after spending 20 years as a stay-at-home mom and wife. She is excited to return to school and finds John Wood has helped her find herself again. As her children near the end of their high school education, John Wood has stepped in and helped her son through dual enrollment classes. Mize said, “The JWCC staff has been very helpful in working with her schedule and getting her accommodated in the classroom again.”
Summer and Fall registration are available during the College Connections event. This event is free and open to the public. Please call or text 217.393.8400 for more information.
