JWCC to Offer Extended Hours to Assist Students with Enrollment Before Fall Semester

As the Fall semester approaches, John Wood Community College (JWCC) is offering extended hours at its Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison to help students complete their enrollment process before classes begin on August 19. To accommodate students’ busy schedules, key student services will remain open later from August 12 through August 20.

Extended Hours Schedule:
• Aug. 12-15 (Monday – Thursday): Student services open until 6 PM
• Aug. 16 (Friday): Services available until 8a-12PM
• Aug. 19-20 (Monday- Tuesday): Student services and bookstore open until 6 PM

Starting Wednesday, August 21, JWCC will return to regular hours, which are Monday through Thursday until 5 p.m. and Friday until noon.

Services Available During Extended Hours:
• Advising: Meet with academic advisors to finalize course selections, create class schedules, and discuss academic goals.
• Admissions: Complete your application, submit necessary documents, and receive assistance with the enrollment process.
• Financial Aid: Get help with FAFSA applications, financial aid packages, and payment plans.
• Campus Care: Address any health or wellness concerns, including insurance questions.
• Business Office: Pay tuition, set up payment plans, and address any billing questions.

Please note these extended hours do not apply to JWCC’s Workforce Development Center, Southeast Education Center, Agricultural Education Center, Mt. Sterling Education Center, and JWCC at Bella Ease in Quincy.

“We understand that many students have work or family obligations during regular business hours, so we’re offering extended hours to make it easier for them to get the support they need,” said Rachel Hansen, Dean of Student Affairs. “Whether students are just getting started or finalizing last-minute details, our staff is here to help them every step of the way.”

JWCC encourages all students, both new and returning, to take advantage of these extended hours to ensure a smooth start to the semester. With classes beginning on August 19, this is the perfect time to complete any outstanding enrollment tasks, finalize schedules, and get ready for a successful academic year.
