JWCC Workforce Development Center offering a Lifting and Rigging Class

John Wood Community College Workforce Development Center will offer a Lifting and Rigging class on Friday, April 9, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The class is open to the public, no application is necessary, but individuals are required to make a reservation to attend. The class will take place at JWCC’s Workforce Development Center, 4220 Kochs Lane, Quincy.

This course will cover topics such as:  what is the right way to lift an object with your hands or a mechanical device, how to strap a load down, how to use various lifting devices, why ergonomics is part of lifting, what is Engineering Controls, what are Work Practices, what is too much weight, who is a Qualified Rigger, what is OSHA’s crane rule, what are audible signals, what is the Standard Method, and much more.
