John Wood Community college is hosting its annual Presidential Scholarship Competition scheduled for February 20, 2021. Students will compete for three two-year Presidential full-tuition Scholarships at John Wood Community College.
The competition involves an interview process with JWCC faculty, students and administrators. High school grade point average and application attachments will also be factors in the competition.
Presidential Scholarship recipients will be required to take part in leadership and service activities as they complete requirements for associate degrees during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 academic years at JWCC.
“JWCC’s Presidential Scholarship is an outstanding opportunity to recognize our district’s talented high school students,” Michael Elbe, JWCC president said. “This prestigious award allows area students to earn a two-year scholarship to graduate debt free from JWCC.”
All applications are due by January 31, 2021. Students with at least a 3.75 GPA should apply by filling out the application form located at www.jwcc.edu/presidential. Students will need to also include their resume, an essay entitled “Why I should be a JWCC Presidential Scholar” and a letter of recommendation from a school official. Additionally, applicants will need to apply for admissions to JWCC and submit high school transcripts to participate in the competition.
