John Wood Community College will feature professional artist David Garrison of Burlington, Iowa, in the Heath Center Art Gallery, through April 3. The gallery is located in the lower level of the Paul Heath Community Education and Fine Arts Center on the Quincy campus, at 1301 South 48th Street.
Garrison’s artwork includes pastels of landmarks from around the region and from his travels to France, including autumn scenes, landscapes, architecture and Western artwork. He has shown his work on three continents, and his paintings appear in galleries and private collections throughout North America, Europe, Russia and China.
A reception for the artist will take place in the gallery during the St. Patrick’s Day Art Crawl, organized by Quincy Art Center, on Friday, March 20 from 6-9 pm. The public is invited to attend.
The gallery is open during regular college hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Some pieces are for sale. For more information, contact Jenna Seaborn, curator, atartgallery@jwcc.edu or call 217.653.3246.
