John Wood Community College (JWCC) has announced that spring registration for the College for Life (CFL) program opens on November 4, 2024. CFL provides students with intellectual or developmental disabilities an opportunity to continue their education, participate in campus life, and gain skills for greater independence and community contribution. The program offers a range of non-credit courses, including practical subjects such as Self-Advocacy and Eating for Life, designed to support adult learning and personal growth.
Students ages 18 and older who have an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or similar support plan are encouraged to apply. The CFL curriculum allows students to explore courses twice weekly, Tuesdays and Thursdays, on the Quincy campus, in classes tailored to help each individual develop life and work skills in a welcoming community setting.
Registration for spring classes will be open on the JWCC website beginning November 4, 2024. Limited scholarships are available for students in need. For more information, prospective students and families are encouraged to reach out to CFL Coordinator Julie Quinn at 217.641.4340 or via email at jwcc.edu/cfl.
