Twenty-seven students were inducted into John Wood Community College’s Alpha Tau Gamma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society during a formal ceremony Thursday, February 20.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) recognizes and encourages scholarship among students at two-year colleges. Inductees must have completed 12 semester hours of associate degree work, have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale and be currently enrolled at JWCC.
JWCC Vice President of Instruction Laurel Klinkenberg presented the welcome and addressed the inductees. PTK advisors, Jennifer Grindstaff and Maria Richmiller, installed the new inductees and officers. New officers inducted are Alaina Voss (vice-president), Mary Farmer (vice-president of scholarship), and Alpha Cepeda (secretary). Also participating in the ceremony was Grace Zanger, vice-president of service.
